About the event

Antarctica, the icy wonderland at the bottom of the world, captivates  the imagination with its snowy beauty and awe-inspiring landscapes.   From glaciers and icebergs to penguins and seals, there is no place like  it on earth. In December 2023, Ventures Birding Tours of Asheville  embarked on an Antarctic journey, birding from the comfort of a cruise  ship. From their vantage point on the bow of the ship, tour participants  enjoyed awesome views of an amazing variety of birds: 6 species of  penguins, 8 albatross species, 29 different petrel species and more!  Join us for a virtual trip on the cruise ship with Ventures owner Simon  Thompson who will recap their tour to the Southern Oceans and the  Antarctic Peninsula. In person and also via Zoom
