Bird Outings
We offer bird outings three Saturdays a month.
All Bird Outings are free and open to all! Beginner birders are welcomed.

-
1st Saturday of the month at the Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary in North Asheville
-
2nd Saturday at Jackson Park in Hendersonville (meet at the administrative building parking lot)
-
3rd Saturday at Lake Julian Park. Meet at the Lake Julian Park Extension in the parking lot behind Wild Wing Cafe off of Long Shoals Rd.
Outings begin at 8 a.m. in April - September and 9 a.m. in October - March.
Many thanks to the guides at Ventures Birding for leading our outings

Program Meetings

We offer lectures and programs on various topics throughout the year.
These include topics ranging from local to global, and also bird trivia nights! Lectures are often offered in a hybrid format (both in person and via Zoom). Many thanks to our speakers throughout the years who have shared their knowledge.
Plants for Birds Outings

We offer Plants for Birds Outings once a month on the second Saturday, between May - October.
These outings focus on the native plants, trees, and shrubs that sustain the birds that visit our sanctuary. The outings highlight blooming wildflowers and notable trees and shrubs, and highlight their role in supporting our avian visitors. No special equipment is needed, just bring your curiosity!
